What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth is an American holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. While not an official statutory holiday in Canada it is increasingly recognized and celebrated across the country to honour Black culture,reflect on Canada’s own history of slavery and support the ongoing fight against anti-Black Racism.
